Nina Curri

Nina Curri is an outstanding singer/songwriter based in Tempe, Arizona.  Her musical styles include roots blues, jazz, r&b, pop, bluesiana and folk music.  After years of performing as a blues singer, Nina has developed the ability to meld songbird-like vocals with a powerhouse blues range.  Her music is introspective and real while performing variety covers and originally composed material.  She has had the opportunity of opening shows for and sharing the stage with many legendary artists including Francine Reed, T-Model Ford, Milton Hopkins, Grady Gaines, Chico Chism, Hans Olson, The Rocket 88’s, Steve D. Reynolds, Jesse Colter, Ian Moore, Delbert McClinton and many more!

Her Italian-American mother performed as a folk singer/songwriter in Greenwich Village in the early 60's and eventually became an English teacher.  Her East Indian father is a retired Engineer, has archives of Indian music and enjoys singing.  Folk, blues, jazz and singer/songwriters were staple in their household record collection.

In Flagstaff, AZ while attending Northern Arizona University, Nina met blues musician and songwriter Steve Reynolds who influenced her with his acoustic blues as well as his favorite Texas and Louisiana music. Upon graduation, she moved to Texas where the scenes there allowed her to experience cities rich in music and diverse in talent.  Houston’s legendary blues history and Austin's eclectic music community gave her opportunities to develop as a well-rounded artist.

Nina has been influenced by many Arizona artists & more!  She commonly performs solo or duo and is available as a trio or full band.
