Nina Curri is an outstanding singer/songwriter who has been performing throughout Arizona for many years. Her musical styles and influences include roots blues, folk, jazz, pop & americana. Her music is introspective and real while performing variety covers, traditional roots blues and originally composed material. She is engaging and entertaining while truly captivating her audience.
Nina was born in Florida and spent summers in Carolina in her youth. She was introduced to the Arizona music scene during her college years in Flagstaff at Northern Arizona University where she was influenced by local blues performers and songwriters. Living in Austin and Houston, Texas for a spell allowed her to experience cities rich in music and diverse in talent. Phoenix's multi-faceted music scenes have been constant inspirations that have shaped her as an artist.
Nina has been awarded the top traditional acoustic artist by The Phoenix Blues Society and continues to perform in local Arizona blues events. She has performed in local venues in and outside of Phoenix including showcases at The Musical Instrument Museum in Scottsdale, AZ; The Desert Botanical Gardens concert series; The Rhythm Room in Phoenix; Tempe Center for the Arts; Phoenix Blues Blast; Telluride Blues & Brews Festival; The Southwest Cajun Festival in Chandler; local resorts, restaurants, wine bars & neighborhood favorites. She has even performed a showcase at the legendary Bitter End in NYC where many famed singer/songwriters got their start.
Nina has had the opportunity of opening shows and sharing the stage with local & legendary artists like Francine Reed, Walt Richardson, Chico Chism, Hans Olson, The Rocket 88's, Ian Moore, Jesse Colter, Delbert McClinton and is looking forward to many more incredible connections and music making experiences!
Nina continues to lend her passionate support for St. Mary's Food Bank by performing in an annual holiday benefit featuring Francine Reed & Friends held at The Rhythm Room in Phoenix, Arizona.
